The South American republic of Chile is one of the world’s biggest exporters of wines. And there’s nothing more appetizing than to pair a glass (or two) of Chilean vino with the country’s wide range of local food, like chorrillana, empanadas de marisco, and cazuela.
Now, tens of thousands of diners can discover great Chilean food haunts as online review site Yelp expands its South American presence and launches its service in Chile.
“Yelp’s Chilean excursion starts in Santiago: the capital and largest city in the country is home to over one third of the national population, or seven million soon-to-be Yelpers,” writes Miriam Warren, VP of New Markets for Yelp. “From Bellas Artes to Bellavista and beyond, Chileans can now use Yelp to find their favorite local businesses across the country.”
Chile represents the 28th country where the popular online review site has established its presence. Yelp has collected more than 61 million reviews of local businesses, and has launched communities in countries that include the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Australia, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Singapore, Poland, Turkey, New Zealand, the Czech Republic, Brazil, Portugal, Mexico, Japan, and Argentina.
Consumers in Chile can visit www.yelp.cl or download the Yelp mobile app to read, share, and post reviews. Business owners, meanwhile, can visit www.biz.yelp.cl to claim their Yelp profiles, track Yelp reviews, and manage what customers are saying online.
