So Valentine’s Day is coming up. (Or Singles Awareness Day, for those unattached.) And we bet that a lot of people are checking out online reviews right now.

Reviews of what, you ask? Well, if you’re celebrating with your special someone, you may be checking out restaurant reviews aggregator OpenTable or Yelp to find out where to book a candlelit table and have a romantic dinner with your date. Or you’re probably playing around with the new Facebook Nearby feature to discover new local places. And if you’re the type to follow pleasant evening meals with cozy post-dinner drinks and cocktails, you may be consulting the Internet and monitoring reviews of bars and nightlife places.

As for places where you can spend the day (and night) with your Valentine, well – TripAdvisor has already taken care of that. The leading travel and hotel reviews aggregator recently released its list of 25 most romantic hotels in the world.

From the list, we collected online reviews shared by couples (or getaway-seeking singles) that have actually been to these top hotels. Check the reviews out! And don’t forget to share your own reviews of your favorite romantic getaways and Valentine’s Day venues.

Anastasis Apartments

Imerovigli, Greece

“Anastasis apartments were built in such way that they provide visitors with the chance to watch a beautiful sunset. It was definitely the most romantic vacation of my life. I’ll definitely come back next year (I hope).”

La Minerva

Island of Capri, Italy

“The room was equipped with fantastic remotely operated blackout shutters. From the private boat tour around the island, which ended with lunch at a nearby ‘beach’ to a visit to Anna Capri and Villa Jovis, it was a wonderful anniversary celebration. We are already plotting a return visit.”

Cranleigh Boutique

Bowness-on-Windermere, England

“I bought this weekend for my wife’s Christmas present. Just spent a lovely weekend at The Cranleigh. Excellent staff, excellent breakfasts, lovely room with en-suite and great for all facilities in Bowness and around.”

Layana Resort and Spa

Ko Lanta, Thailand

“Between the wonderful welcome, gorgeous grounds, spotless white sand beaches stretching out for miles as far as we could see, and lovely rooms, we were in heaven. What a perfect way to spend and end our honeymoon. Both my husband and I were positively giddy like children in a toy store. Our only disappointment: wishing we’d had more time.”

Koa Kea Hotel and Resort

Kauai, Hawaii

“(For) a romantic getaway, it was perfection. The rooms were modern and tasteful…. They did light tiki torches all over the property after sunset, which was a nice touch. There are washers and dryers on every floor, which was also convenient. Our room had an empty mini fridge (room service will stock it for you on request) which was great, and they brought bottles of Fiji water every evening at turn down. There’s also a Nespresso maker in the room so you can enjoy your first cup of coffee on your lanai. Complimentary coffee was also set out on the bar every morning. I look forward to returning here!”

Lindos Blu

Lindos, Greece

“We came here for our honeymoon 29th September for 11 nights. Where do I start? We arrived just after midnight and were welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine each then showed to our room. We were upgraded for the first night with a sharing pool.”

Hotel Herrnschloesschen

Bavaria, Germany

“Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable and clean rooms, superb restaurant, wonderful location in the heart of Old Town Rothenburg: a great place to stay. They even washed our rental car! I can’t think of a hotel (either in Rothenburg or anywhere else) I would recommend more highly. We had nice weather and enjoyed eating in their garden every morning. They served us a wonderful Sekt (sparkling German wine) with dinner. Our room overlooked the church across the street, a stop on the night watchman’s tour, so we could hear his stories of Rothenburg of old.”

Cocoa Island by COMO

Coco Island, Maldives

“It was a magical moment since arrival till our departure. I should say hats off to Mr. Sola for putting such a great team in a beautiful and astonishing resort. The three days that I have spent in Cocoa was magical and by far the most relaxing holiday ever, which brings to my attention the beautiful stylish rooms that look like a boat (Dhooni), that’s what they call them there. The weather was just perfect for water activities such as diving and snorkelling. Wow, it was just dazzling to see the clarity and endless blue water.”

Alchymist Residence Nosticova

Prague, Czech Republic

“My fiancé and I just spent 4 days in at the Nosticova Residence and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Our driver Peter was a lovely guy and a true gentleman with my fiancé: he took her suitcase straight away at the airport, helped her in and out of the car, and even warned her that there was slippery ice! Upon arriving he also took care of handing the bags to the hotel porter who helped us check in and then took us to our room.”

Al Maha Desert Resort

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

“The best weekend in Dubai ever. Amazing suites and fantastic service. The sundowner has to be the highlight with the breath-taking views of the sunset behind the sand dunes in the middle of the desert. Having lived in Dubai for more than seven years, I can safely say that Al Maha has the best customer service in the country. Make sure to order at least one of your meals in-room and witness the room service at its best. Perfect for a romantic getaway.”

I have just googled all of the mentioned locations and all are astonishing. Maybe I will get lucky to visit one of them next Valentines. I must show these places to my boyfriend and if I am lucky enough he will surprise me next year.
