We’re thrilled to announce that our online review monitoring platform ReviewTrackers has been selected as one of eleven participating companies in the Innovative Web Technologies category for the 5th annual SWSW Accelerator competition.
The competition is the marquee event of the SXSW Interactive Festival’s Startup Village, where startup companies showcase some of the most impressive new tech innovations to a live audience and a panel of hand-picked judges. Our team, led by founder and CEO Chris Campbell, will be there to showcase the unique technology that powers our online review monitoring platform. This year’s SXSW runs from tomorrow, March 8, to March 12 in Austin, Texas.
This awesome piece of news comes on the heels of ReviewTrackers’ recent participation in the 2013 Launch Festival Demo Pit, held last March 4 to 6 at the San Francisco Design Center.
More than 500 companies actually submitted to present at SXSW Accelerator (hashtag #SXSWaccel). There are seven categories in all – and ReviewTrackers is joined in the Innovative Web Technologies category by the following startups: Collections, Expect Labs, Memoto, Mr. Arlo, Synaptop, TrueAbility, Wanderu, Zumper, Cloudsnap, and Heyo.
As a key event of SXSW Festival’s Startup Village, #SXSWaccel will be held at the Downtown Austin Hilton. On March 12, judges will announce a selected winner in each of the following categories: Innovative Web Technologies, Social Technologies, Entertainment and Gaming Technologies, Mobile Technologies, Health Technologies, and News Technologies. The winner in the Music Technologies category will be announced on March 13 at the Austin Convention Center.
“Some truly ground-breaking and disruptive companies once stood where this year’s 56 SXSW Accelerator finalists will pitch to venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and press,” said SXSW Accelerator Event Producer, Chris Valentine. “The bar has been set quite high: 47 percent of previous finalists have received funding, and 10 percent have been acquired. I am confident that this year’s SXSW Accelerator finalists will bring equally exceptional and unique products and services to the table, with high potential to impact their respective industries.”
The annual SXSW is recognized as an incubator of cutting-edge technologies and digital creativity, with five days of compelling presentations from the brightest minds in emerging technology, scores of exciting networking events hosted by industry leaders, and an unbeatable line-up of special programs showcasing the best new websites, video games, and startup ideas the community has to offer. From hands-on training to big-picture analysis of the future, SXSW Interactive has become the place to experience a preview of what is unfolding in the world of technology.
This year’s event is sponsored by Miller Lite, Monster Energy, Esurance, IFC, Yahoo!, American Express, PepsiCo, Pepsi, Freecreditscore.com, Chevrolet, American Airlines, Oreo, AT&T and The Austin Chronicle.
