Hopefully our recent post on how OpenTable can help your restaurant will have convinced you to get listed at this popular online reservation service and restaurant reviews aggregator. (Or hopefully you’ve been an OpenTable member restaurant for much longer than that.)

If not, then here’s another reason to join: OpenTable has recently updated its Android app, updating restaurant profile pages to improve navigation in a way that more easily and effectively displays your business information. The pages now show info such as: items on the menu, aggregated restaurant reviews, your restaurant’s overall rating (based on OpenTable’s five-star rating system), user favorites, and customers’ Dining Rewards Points. There’s also an added ability to edit reservation date, time, and size of party – all from your restaurant profile page.

The OpenTable Android app also features a new “Add to Calendar” functionality (for Android 4.0 devices or higher) that reminds your diners about their dinner reservations.

OpenTable mobile product manager for Android and Windows: “You’ve pleaded,” wrote Josh Garnier,OpenTable mobile product manager for Android and Windows. “You’ve protested outside our offices. Well, no, you didn’t actually do that last part. Despite that, we’ve (finally!) added the ability to add your reservations to your calendar! There’s now no excuse to miss your dinner with mom.”

The new app also features better integration with Google Maps, reducing clutter while allowing users to explore nearby areas as well as locations that are farther away. “Easter egg: drag the map to another area and tap to initiate a new search,” Garnier added.

What do all these updates mean for OpenTable member restaurants? Well, you don’t exactly have to do anything, since the improvements are geared towards providing OpenTable diners a better user experience. But to ensure that your restaurant profile page keeps up with the revamped app, do make sure that your information is accurate and up-to-date. It pays to double-check!
