When it comes to generating online reviews: the more you have, the merrier you get.
In fact, according to a study by a group of researchers from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in Spain, a local business’ aggregated rating on a site like TripAdvisor is likely to increase significantly as its number of reviews grow.
It thus comes to no surprise that business owners in the hospitality industry are turning to TripAdvisor’s free review request service – called Review Express – in order to enhance their online reputation and improve their online ratings.
According to TripAdvisor, over 47,000 businesses – 30,000 of which are small- to medium-sized hotels and bed and breakfasts – have turned to Review Express to grow their review totals. The service has so far been pretty effective, with an average of 33 percent increase in guest-generated reviews.
“There’s no question that reviews play a pivotal role in the booking decision for travellers. According to recent PhoCusWright research, more than half of TripAdvisor users will not book a hotel that does not have reviews,” said Severine Philardeau, VP Global Partnerships, TripAdvisor for Business. “Review Express was created to help hospitality businesses encourage and generate more reviews for their property page on TripAdvisor and the service is delivering great benefits to business owners.”
Unfortunately, not all review sites have a free service like Review Express. So if you don’t yet have a system in place for sending out E-mails to guests and encouraging them to write reviews, try ReviewTrackers, a hotel reputation management platform with a cool review request feature for requesting customer feedback in a fast, efficient, and streamlined way.
ReviewTrackers covers all major review sites, allowing you to increase your customer engagement levels and collect the kind of reviews that will drive your performance. Start your free trial today!
