We are glad you asked!

If you are looking for a Yelp sticker to boost your marketing and review management efforts, we believe you care about your business, and you want to succeed and amplify your presence online and offline.

Stickers and other collateral associated with well-known review sites add credibility to your business by giving them the assurances that come with knowing that other consumers just like them felt like your product or service was review-worthy.

All things being equal, a casual shopper is more likely to patronage a business with a Yelp sticker than one without a sticker.

Before we dive deeper into the topic, you need to know that in order to have a Yelp sticker, you must first ensure you have an active Yelp profile and you claimed it as your own. Haven’t claimed it yet? Here’s your step-by-step guide.

Also, before you display a Yelp sticker on your storefront, make sure it is up to par by updating and enhancing your profile and images on your Yelp, and taking the time to respond and manage your online reviews. Chances are you are already doing this, but if you are not, then this is a great time to start.

Not All Yelp Stickers Are the Same

Maybe you haven’t noticed this, or maybe you have, but not all Yelp stickers are equal. If you have been on Yelp for a while, and you have managed to earn high ratings and reviews from your customers, then you are well on your way to obtaining a “People Love Us on Yelp” sticker.

This sticker is a badge of recognition for outstanding performance, quite similar to the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Award. The “People Love Us on Yelp” sticker cannot be requested; it must be earned.

Alternatively, businesses that are just getting started on Yelp can have a similar sticker displayed on their storefront, but the wording is slightly different. The sticker reads “Find Us on Yelp,” and it is intended to trigger customer engagement with the Yelp platform in order to secure more online reviews.

customer experience management

“People Love Us on Yelp” = Great Customer Experience Management

In Yelp’s own words, this is how a business can secure the coveted “People Love Us on Yelp” sticker for their storefront:

“People Love Us on Yelp” is a program that provides a sticker and a letter of commendation from Yelp’s founders to businesses that qualify based on their history and rating on Yelp. The stickers are sent out once per year to all businesses that qualify. Whether or not a business advertises on Yelp has no impact on their eligibility to receive a “People Love Us on Yelp” sticker.

This extra vote of confidence can be incredibly helpful in increasing your walk-in traffic, particularly if you are located in a locale where there is a great deal of transient traffic or tourism.

To get to the level where you are likely to earn a “People Love Us on Yelp” sticker, you must have a commitment to manage customer experiences in ways that ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and seamless delivery, as well as the willingness to be a brand advocate via Yelp.

“Find Us on Yelp”: Boost Your Online Presence

If your business is new, or you are new to review and reputation management, then it will be a little while before you get to the point where you can earn a “People Love Us on Yelp” sticker.

These stickers are only issued once per year to the best of the best, so you have time to work hard and earn your very first one.

Meanwhile, you can request a sticker that is available to all businesses that have a profile on Yelp. The “Find Us on Yelp” sticker is very useful when it comes to triggering online engagements conducive to reviews, and it is a good first step toward earning your “People Love Us on Yelp” sticker.

Requesting a “Find Us on Yelp” sticker is very simple. To get yours, head to this page and fill out your request form.

Displaying your “Find Us on Yelp” sticker will increase recall and boost your online presence, and can potentially result in more customer reviews to help you gain popularity and move to the top of the list for your category.

The Risks: Before Displaying a Yelp Sticker

If your business has not yet implemented a strong customer experience management strategy, and recent historical data associated with reviews shows an erratic pattern in terms of scores and feedback, then you may want to think twice before displaying a sticker.

A sticker conveys confidence in your products and services, tells potential customers that you are open to feedback, and that you have the confidence that customers will find your services to be satisfactory.

If, for one reason or another, your business is at a season where you are unable to deliver consistently high-quality service, then consider peeling off your sticker until you are able to address operational issues affecting the customer experience.

Similarly, if your scores are weak due to past performance, then you may want to wait until you are able to accrue enough highly rated reviews to correct your overall score.

In short, a Yelp sticker is only as good as your online reputation strategy. Before you go out and promote your third-party review site profiles as a means to validate your business performance, make sure all your ducks are in a row.

Maximize the Yelp Brand to Leverage Your Business

In addition to a sticker, you can also use the Yelp logo in association with your business in a variety of creative ways that support and enhance your business collateral online and offline.

Include the Yelp logo on your site, and make it an integral part of your social media profiles.

Additionally, look into leveraging your high-performing Yelp profile by including snippets of your reviews, as well as a Yelp logo in printed media such as your business cards, brochures, and magazine and newspaper advertising.

If you decide to take this route, remember that direct review solicitation is against Yelp policies. Don’t do it. The consequences are serious, and you have plenty of review management options when it comes to securing more and better reviews, without violating Yelp’s policies.

I noticed Yelp and Trip Adviser sticker on the door of a local tourist attraction this morning. I also noticed they were customized. The Yelp one said that ‘people loved them’ and the Trip Adviser one said something about winning an award of excellence.

“A sticker conveys confidence in your products and services, tells potential customers that you are open to feedback, and that you have the confidence that customers will find your services to be satisfactory.” If you don find your services satisfactory, consider stopping a business, not just a sticker removal. Or you could improve it.
