You’ve seen the first four videos here on the ReviewTrackers blog. Now, it’s time to bring you a new set of YouTube videos featuring real actors reading more Yelp reviews.

The series, created by New York actor Joe Plummer, has become a viral hit since the first video was uploaded last July. Apart from demonstrating the popularity of user-generated content posted on today’s many review sites (i.e. Yelp), the “Real Actors Read Yelp Reviews” series also uses the genre of online reviews to poke fun at Yelpers and generate more than a few laughs.

Asked about whether or not Yelp has actually reached out to him, Mr. Plummer – who manages the YouTube channel Gotta Kid to Feed – replied: “They have been super-cool about it and gave us a shout out on FB and Twitter saying they loved them. Believe me I was surprised.”

Here are the two latest videos in the “Real Actors Read Yelp Reviews” series. The first features veteran Broadway actor Brian Hutchison getting emotional as he delivers the lines from a one-star Yelp review of aSan Francisco strip club.

The second one, meanwhile, is a reading of a two-star Yelp review of the Abuelitas Mexican Restaurant in Topanga,California. Broadway actress Amanda Leigh Cobb performs, “unburdening her soul” as a mother who was left out by the restaurant on Mother’s Day.

Is your business tracking online reviews? If you happen to come across a customer review that you think will strike comedy gold, Mr. Plummer ([email protected]) will be happy to hear from you. Yes, he really is soliciting Yelp reviews so it can be brought to life on YouTube by a real actor.

lol 🙂 This was great, especially “they don’t do tricks”, I laughed like crazy. Why doesn’t she go to the circus if she wants to see people do tricks?!
