The Pros

Dr. Oogle can certainly help a private dental practice secure new patient leads in markets where the review site has search dominance.

Dr. Oogle Premium provides shoppers with one of the most informative profiles for dentists, with metrics specific to their profession, giving far more clarity in the decision-making process than the information one can find on more generic websites such as Yelp.

Dr. Oogle allows potential patients to book appointments online, directly via their website. This is particularly useful in securing new leads from shoppers hesitant to engage in phone interaction.

The Cons

Dr. Oogle only has a little less than 200,000 reviews. When compared to other review sites, that is not necessarily a strong number. Many dentists currently listed in Dr. Oogle do not have a single review.

Dr. Oogle’s interface is informative, but it is also very busy and data-heavy. Some shoppers may find that fact overwhelming and unhelpful.

Dr. Oogle may not be of value as a lead-generating review site for markets, where it does not rank on the first page for popular searches associated with finding a dentist.

Dr. Oogle is not a familiar brand, and this may hinder credibility for some potential patients.

In conclusion, deciding to move forward with a Dr. Oogle premium account may look different to every single dental practice. Your decision to go premium should be made based on data and facts. Because Dr. Oogle has a free trial period, the risk is minimal and certainly worth the time investment. If you are looking for an additional channel for affordable lead generation, then consider taking a closer look. Dr. Oogle may just be the right prescription for your private dental practice.

As always we encourage dentists and other healthcare professionals to take a holistic approach to online reviews and reputation management ensuring all their bases are covered and engaging with all reviewers regardless of the site of choice. Kevin: how can you promote a company like Dr. Oogle!! I am a dentist and first hand, I have experience their extortionistic behavior. I had 15 positive Dr. Oogle reviews (mostly 5 stars and two 4 stars). Then one day they contacted me and asked me to start paying $99/month to keep my reviews. I told them that I was not interested, and the next thing that happened, I see that they erased all my positive reviews and put one very short review (which was originally a 4 start) and showed it as a 2 star. So when one searched me on Google, my name shows as a two star. This is totally dishonest and a defamation of character. I have contacted them and they said that this was a real review, when I actually have all the screen shots of my real reviews. (my screen shots should hold up in court well) Apparently, this is happening to other dentists that I have personally heard from. There is a group of dentist trying to get together for a class action lawsuit to take them to court for extortion and defamation and I will be jumping in on with them. Please read reviews on Dental Town and Rip off report, and DO NOT SUPPORT such a dishonest company!!!

I completely agree that Dr Oogle is entirely committing extortion and libeling good dentist’s reputations through slander. I had a similiar experience as you and would be very interested in joining your class action suit. Dr Oogle’s practice is completely unethical and dishonest!

Dr. Oogle seems like a fraud company. If they erased your reviews just because you wont pay their fee, that is OK. But, to break your review from a 4 star to a 2 star review, that is terrible. I searched for dentists on Oogle and I run onto some 2-3 star rated dentists and skipped them immediately. Now I know why they have those reviews and i will never use Oogle again. Thanks for sharing your experience with them CC.

Completely agree with the comments above. Dr. Oogle is a total scam. They ruin your ratings if you don’t pay them. I threatened legal action if they did not take down the fake negative review they posted IMMEDIATELY after I cancelled my subscription. Funny how I had 15 – 5 Star reviews that disappeared right after I cancelled as well. Don’t fall for their extortion techniques. We should all get together and sue them.
